It's the same story--people want something, but don't want to pay for it. They use power and influence to get the government to force others to pay so they can get what they want. National Endowment for the Arts, anyone? Cowboy poetry???<br /><br />One of my pet examples of inappropriate spending is the Jordan Valley Innovation Center in Springfield. The company I work for has one of the floors in the building. Good for me, I guess. Except it's the <i>Roy Blunt</i> Jordan Valley Innovation Center. When I commented to a co-worker that it was pork, he looked a little shocked.
