You know you're dealing with a moron...Word up.

You know you're dealing with a moron socialist (I know, I know, redundant) when they go on and on (and on and on and on) about "capitalism" as if it's an organized, coherent program. One cannot be a "capitalist" in the way one is a proctologist or a Yankees fan (hmmm... proctology, socialists, and Yankees fans. I'll take "what are three things comprised entirely of assholes" for $500, Alex... but I digress).

Anyway: one can be a socialist in that sense. A Yankees fan watches Yankee games, wears caps with the Yankee logo, knows the roster, knows the history, insults Boston fans, etc. One must also do the same types of things to be a socialist. There's a secret handshake, and ideology, and a sneering, snotty attitude of moral and intellectual superiority (this is the key component these days), etc.

You're a "capitalist," by contrast, from the very first second you trade baseball cards with the kid next door.

The government does have some role in a free market, of course -- not realizing this is another mark of the moron socialist (as in, "all you evil conservatives want to do is let big business do whatever it wants"). But mostly it's a hindrance. And, like most things in America these days, we can't even really talk about it, because we're not talking about the same thing at all.Severianhttp://academiczoology.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
