Juan is a little upset

I would be, too.  Dude looks like he's about read to explode.

They only get 1 or 2% of their budget from the government?  And now this guy says they'd be better off without it?

Ok, done!

De-Federally-Fund NPR.  I ended my donations.

Defunding the the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is doing the right thing for the wrong reason.

The Federal government has no business funding ANY broadcasting.

Let NPR raise money on its own and live or die by their content. It's the same story--people want something, but don't want to pay for it. They use power and influence to get the government to force others to pay so they can get what they want. National Endowment for the Arts, anyone? Cowboy poetry???

One of my pet examples of inappropriate spending is the Jordan Valley Innovation Center in Springfield. The company I work for has one of the floors in the building. Good for me, I guess. Except it's the Roy Blunt Jordan Valley Innovation Center. When I commented to a co-worker that it was pork, he looked a little shocked. I told him if it's got a politician's name in front of it, it's PORK!

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting that this is the reason WHY they shouldn't be getting government money.

I was just pointing out that their own feeble rationalizations have been exposed for all to see, and that this would be an excellent opportunity to push for it.
